The Calgary Flames have signed restricted free agent forward Brennan Othmann to a one-year, two-way contract worth $975,000.
Othmann, 23, finished the season with the Calgary Flames after he was acquired from the New York Rangers for prospect Jacob Battaglia.
He appeared in 19 games this season with the Rangers and Flames, recording two goals and three points. Othmann also had nine goals and 23 points in 40 games split between the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack and Calgary Wranglers last year.
The 6-foot winger is coming off his three-year, entry-level contract.
Drafted 16th overall by the Rangers in 2021, Othmann has two goals and five points in 44 games in the NHL. He also has 42 goals and 92 points in 134 AHL games.
The Pickering, Ont., native represented Canada twice at the World Juniors, winning gold in 2022 and 2023.
