The Calgary Flames are trying to move forward Connor Zary, according to TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger.

Dreger adds it sounds like the Flames are asking for a second-round selection in return.

The 24-year-old centre has two years remaining on his contract at $3.775 million. He is scheduled to become a restricted free agent after the 2027-28 campaign.

The No. 24 overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft has played three seasons at the NHL level since making his debut in November of 2023. He tallied 12 goals and 13 assists for 25 points in 74 games last season. His ice time dipped to 14:22 per game last campaign after being at 15:16 and 16:04, respectively, the two seasons before.

Zary is a veteran of 191 NHL regular-season games and has 39 goals with 86 career points.
