Former Calgary Flames defenceman Daniil Miromanov will be continuing his career overseas.
Miromanov, an unrestricted free agent, signed a two-year deal with the KHL’s SKA St. Petersburg on Friday after spending the past five seasons in the NHL.
The 29-year-old blueliner was traded to the Flames from the Vegas Golden Knights during the 2023-24 season. He appeared in a career-high 44 games in 2024-25, but played in just one game with the Flames last season.
He posted 11 goals and 38 points in 66 games with the AHL’s Calgary Wranglers this past season while playing out the last of a two-year deal with a $1.25 million cap hit.
Miromanov made his NHL debut with the Golden Knights during the 2020-21 season but struggled to find a consistent place in the lineup before eventually being included as part of the team’s package for Noah Hanifin at the trade deadline in 2024.
The Moscow native has seven goals and 23 points in 94 career NHL games.
