The Montreal Canadiens acquired winger Sasha Pastujov from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for centre Sean Farrell on Monday.
Pastujov, 23, was selected by the Ducks in the third round of the 2021 draft. He has yet to make his NHL debut, posting 21 goals and 57 points in 71 games with the AHL’s San Diego Gulls last season.
Both players in the deal are currently restricted free agents in need of new contracts.
Farrell, 24, made his NHL debut with the Canadiens in 2022-23, posting one goal in six games to close the season.
A fourth-round pick in the 2020 draft, Farrell had 17 goals and 53 points in 72 games with the Laval Rocket last season.
