Sebastian Aho, Jordan Staal and Logan Stankoven all found the net for the Carolina Hurricanes as they lead the Montreal Canadiens 3-0 after the first period of Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Final.

The Hurricanes lead the best-of-seven series 2-1.

Jackson Blake had an early chance for the Hurricanes as he slipped behind the Canadiens defence and went in on a breakaway, but goaltender Jakub Dobes made a huge save to turn away the opportunity.

Kirby Dach took the first penalty of the game for the Canadiens at 5:54 as he went to the box for cross checking.

The Hurricanes were not able to register a shot on goal during their first man advantage.

Jalen Chatfield was the first Hurricanes player in the sin bin when he was called for interference on Cole Caufield at 10:06.

The Canadiens were not able to break the ice on their first power play either, with one shot on goal up a man.

Taylor Hall then took a cross-checking penalty at 12:48 to put the Canadiens right back on the power play.

With 30 seconds left in the Hall penalty, Canadiens forward Zachary Bolduc went to the box for hooking.

Aho converted for the Hurricanes on that power play at 14:58, skating down past the faceoff circle and firing the puck past Dobes.

Canadiens head coach Martin St. Louis called his timeout to decide if he wanted to use a challenge, but did not and the goal stood.

The Hurricanes have scored first in all four games in the Eastern Conference Final.

Nikolaj Ehlers and Shayne Gostisbehere picked up helpers on the opening goal.

Staal doubled the Hurricanes’ advantage 68 seconds later when a centering pass from K’Andre Miller deflected off his skate and into the net.

Stankoven made it three in a row for the Hurricanes as he converted a pass from Blake on an odd-man rush at 17:46.

After Wednesday’s game, the series will return to Lenovo Center in Raleigh for Game 5 on Friday.

The Vegas Golden Knights await the winner of this series in the Stanley Cup Final after completing a four-game sweep of the Colorado Avalanche in the Western Conference Final on Tuesday.
