Montreal Canadiens defenceman Lane Hutson will remain in the lineup on Monday for Game 3 against the Carolina Hurricanes. Joe Veleno also practiced with the regulars at morning skate and will likely draw back into the lineup.
Oliver Kapanen skated with the reserves and head coach Martin St. Louis confirmed later on Monday that he would not play in Game 3.

Hutson appeared to sustain an injury late in the Canadiens’ 3-2 overtime loss in Game 2 after taking a hit along the boards from Hurricanes forward Taylor Hall.
The Montreal blueliner did not look limited at Monday’s practice and said he was ‘fine’ following the hit, according to The Athletic’s James Mirtle.

The 22-year-old defenceman has two goals and 14 points in 16 playoff games this year, but has gone scoreless in two games against Carolina. He had 12 goals and 78 points in 82 regular season games.
Veleno, 26, has not played in the past three games after taking a hit up high in Game 6 against the Buffalo Sabres. The Montreal native recorded one assist in six games against the Sabres after he was a healthy scratch for the entire seven-game series against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
The Canadiens and Hurricanes are tied 1-1 with Game 3 scheduled for tonight at the Bell Centre.
