Ice Chips: Leafs’ D Ekman-Larsson on ice at practice

Toronto Maple Leafs

Defenceman Oliver Ekman-Larsson was on the ice at the Maple Leafs’ practice on Monday after he left Saturday’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins with an upper-body injury.

He had a goal and an assist before leaving the contest late.

Ekman-Larsson, 34, is riding a nine-game point streak and will get the chance to stretch it to 10 Tuesday in Florida against the Panthers.

The veteran blueliner has four goals and 16 assists for 20 points in 25 games so far this season.

Meanwhile, defenceman Simon Benoit was back on the ice Monday after missing the game against Pittsburgh due to personal reasons.

Benoit, 27, has two assists in 27 games so far this season while averaging 18:02 of ice time per game. He is in his third season with the Leafs and sixth overall at the NHL level.


Montreal Canadiens

Defenceman Jayden Struble is day-to-day with an upper-body injury, the team announced Monday.

He will not participate in Monday’s practice.

Struble played 17:09 in Friday’s victory over the Vegas Golden Knights but did not play Saturday against the Colorado Avalanche.

The 24-year-old blueliner has four assists in 19 games so far this season.

Boston Bruins

Star forward David Pastrnak remains day-to-day and will not travel to Detroit for Tuesday’s matchup with the Red Wings, head coach Marco Sturm told reporters via Adam Pellerin of NESN.

Pastrnak will miss his third straight game due to the undisclosed injury.

The 29-year-old winger has 11 goals and 29 points in 25 games so far this season for Boston.

Florida Panthers

Robby Fabbri has signed with the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League on a professional tryout basis.

The Panthers’ affiliate made the announcement on Monday.

A native of Mississauga, Ont., Fabbri appeared in 44 games last season with the Anaheim Ducks, notching eight goals and eight assists.

Fabbri, 29, had been on a PTO with the Pittsburgh Penguins during training camp, but was not offered a contract as the season began.

New York Rangers

Forward Taylor Raddysh is not skating Monday due to personal reasons, reports The Athletic’s Peter Baugh.

Raddysh has five goals and two assists in 27 games so far this season.

Meanwhile, Baugh also reports goaltender Spencer Martin was with the Rangers at Monday’s skate. He was recalled by the team on Sunday.

Martin reached a two-year deal with New York last month after playing in the Kontinental Hockey League in Russia. He played one AHL game before being recalled.

Minnesota Wild

The Wild have recalled forward Hunter Haight from the AHL’s Iowa Wild, it was announced Monday.

The 21-year-old has four goals and one assist in 14 AHL games this season. He’s also appeared in two NHL games in 2025-26 but does not have a point.

Anaheim Ducks

The Ducks have called up goaltender Vyacheslav Buteyets from the AHL’s San Diego Gulls, reports Zack Cavanagh of The Sporting Tribune.

Buteyets has played a total of 10 games this season split between the Gulls and the ECHL’s Tulsa Oilers.

Meanwhile, the Ducks have moved goaltender Lukas Dostal to the injured reserve list, reports Cavanagh. The team announced last week Dostal would be out two-to-three weeks with an upper-body injury.
