Detroit Red Wings

Detroit Red Wings forward Dylan Larkin (maintenance) was not on the ice at practice Wednesday ahead of their game Thursday against the Chicago Blackhawks, according to The Athletic's Max Bultman.

Rumours continue to swirl around the 30-year-old following his trade request over the summer. He has two goals and six points in 10 games this season.

Detroit practiced with the following forward lines:

DeBrincat Finnie Arvidsson
Brandsegg-Nygård Copp Raymond
Rasmussen Compher Danielson
Kolesar Mazur

TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger says the Red Wings continue to do their due diligence on teams on and off of Larkin's 10-team trade list, including the Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens.

"Yeah, go down the list of all the teams that have been speculated who want Dylan Larkin who aren’t on his trade list. That would include the likes of the Montreal Canadiens, the Boston Bruins, maybe Nashville. What about Buffalo? What about St. Louis? I mean, the list of teams interested in Dylan Larkin but not on his trade list, Gino, is probably longer than the list that he’s willing to go to," Dreger said on Insider Trading.

"But the Detroit Red Wings have to do their due diligence, and so their pro scouting people are continuing to monitor teams that maybe could get in play. And that includes the St. Louis Blues and the Montreal Canadiens."

Columbus Blue Jackets

The Blue Jackets activate defenceman Caleb McDonald off the injured/non-roster list and loaned him to the AHL's Cleveland Monsters.

Toronto Maple Leafs

Leafs forward Kirill Marchenko has been ruled week-to-week with a lower-body injury, the team announced Wednesday. Marchenko exited Monday’s game against the Calgary Flames in the early stages of the second period and did not return.

Marchenko has six goals and eight assists for 14 points in 14 games since being acquired from the Columbus Blue Jackets alongside Miles Wood and Elvis Merzlikins last month.

Forward Dakota Joshua has been recalled from his conditioning loan and defenceman Chris Tanev has progressed to day-to-day as he nears a return to the lineup.

The team said that forward John Tavares, as well as defencemen Nick Blankenburg and Marshall Rifai all remain week-to-week with injuries.

The Canadiens juggled their forward lines on Wednesday, moving Alex Newhook to the top line with Juraj Slafkovsky and Cole Caufield, and shifting Oliver Kapanen to the line with Josh Anderson and Owen Beck, who took the spot of Kreider.

Edmonton Oilers

The Oilers have placed forward Zach Hyman on injured reserve due to a sore neck, head coach Mike Babcock confirmed.

Hyman was forced to leave Monday’s loss to the Detroit Red Wings after hitting his head against the glass.

The 34-year-old Toronto native has one goal over six games this season, his sixth in Edmonton.

Jason Dickinson and Mattias Ekholm return to the lineup, while Jake Walman is a healthy scratch.

Logan Thompson was the first goalie off the ice after the Capitals' morning skate on Wednesday ahead of the team's game against the Philadelphia Flyers.

The team announced that he has been activated from IR, with Mitch Gibson being sent back to the AHL's Hershey Bears.

He has not played since Oct. 20 as he deals with a lower-body injury.

The 29-year-old Thompson has a 4-3-0 record with a 2.90 goals-against average and a .901 save percentage in seven games this season.
