Nashville Predators
Defenceman Nicolas Hague will miss between four and six weeks with an injury sufferered in Sunday’s pre-season game against the Florida Panthers, according to Preds radio broadcaster Max Herz.

This would take him out for approximately the first month of the regular season.
Hague, 26, had five goals and 12 points in 68 games last season.
Dallas Stars
Stars forward Jamie Benn is day-to-day with an upper-body injury, head coach Glen Gulutzen told reporters via Mike Heika of NHL.com.

They have time, so they will be cautious.
The 36-year-old had 16 goals and 49 points in 80 games last season for the Stars, his 16th in Dallas.
Washington Capitals
Alex Ovechkin skated before Capitals practice Wednesday in a non-contact jersey as he continues to recover from a lower-body injury.
According to NHL.com’s Tom Gulitti, Ovechkin will not play in Thursday’s pre-season game in Hershey, Pa., against the Philadelphia Flyers.
No surprise because he hasn't been practicing with team, but Alex Ovechkin (lower body) won't be go to Hershey for preseason game vs. the Flyers tomorrow, coach Spencer Carbery confirmed.

Carbery said it's a good sign that Ovechkin skated again and did more today than yesterday.

Gulitti added that Ovechkin walked by Carbery while he was speaking to reporters and said he was “all good.”
Ottawa Senators
Forward Drake Batherson will miss at least two weeks with a pulled muscle in his upper-body, reports Postmedia’s Bruce Garrioch.
Batherson left Tuesday’s practice early and head coach Travis Green said afterwards he thought Batherson had pulled something.
“It’s going to be, I’d say, two weeks. That’s what we’re hoping,” he told reporters at Canadian Tire Centre.
Sens forward Lars Eller said via Garrioch Wednesday that he had abdominal surgery for an issue that had been lingering since last November. He does not have a firm timeline on when he’ll suit up but did say he’s closing in on a return.
Eller said he had the surgery in New York in late July. It was revealed last week he’d had the procedure and would miss the start of camp.

The 36-year-old Eller had six goals and nine assists for 15 points in 63 games last season for the Washington Capitals. He joined the Sens on a one-year deal on July 1.
New York Islanders
New York Islanders head coach Patrick Roy said goaltender Semyon Varlamov is not expected to rejoin the team for practices any time soon.
The Isles head coach gave a quick “no” when asked by reporters about his goaltender’s status on Wednesday, reports Ethan Sears of the New York Post.

Varlamov has been out since having knee surgery in December. He has been skating individually during camp.
Meanwhile, forward Anders Lee is out one to two weeks with an upper-body injury, the team announced.

Roy said the injury stemmed from Sunday’s pre-season game against the Philadelphia Flyers when he went into the boards.
The team also said forward Max Tsyplakov is day-to-day but did skate Wednesday morning.
Toronto Maple Leafs
Leafs coach Craig Berube told reporters Tuesday that defenceman Simon Benoit’s upper-body injury is not believed to be serious.
The 27-year-old did not play in Tuesday’s pre-season contest against the Ottawa Senators.
St. Louis Blues
St. Louis Blues forward Milan Lucic is day-to-day with a lower-body injury as the clock ticks down on his professional tryout with the team.
Blues head coach Jim Montgomery revealed Tuesday that Lucic is believed to be dealing with a groin injury.
“He’s day-to-day. He’s walking around fine. It’s just a matter of being able to push out there,“ Montgomery said Wednesday, per The Athletic. ”It’s unfortunate timing for him and us for the evaluation process to see if he can make the club.
“If he’s really day-to-day, and he’s back to play next week, he’ll get into games and we’ll see if he can make the team.”

Pittsburgh Penguins
Forward Noel Acciari is skating for the Penguins Wednesday in a no-contact jersey, reports Kelsey Surmacz of The Hockey News.
Acciari has been working his way back from a core muscle injury that has prevented him from playing in the pre-season so far.
The 33-year-old had five goals and 12 points in 79 games last season.
