The Ottawa Senators have recalled goaltender Hunter Shepard from the AHL’s Belleville Senators.

Shepard, 29, has a 2-1-0 record with a 2.69 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage in three AHL games this season.

No corresponding roster move was announced Monday and it appears Linus Ullmark will receive a full night off on Monday as the Senators face his former team, the Boston Bruins.

Ullmark has a 4-3-1 record this season with a .870 save percentage and a 3.11 GAA. He stopped 12 of the 13 shots he faced in Ottawa’s blowout win over the Washington Capitals on Saturday.

Toronto Maple Leafs

Goaltender Joseph Woll joined the Toronto Maple Leafs for practice Monday morning.

The Leafs said last week that Woll was set to take part in team activities and on-ice participation as part of his return-to-play process.

Toronto also saw star winger William Nylander back on the ice Monday after he was forced to miss Saturday’s overtime win over the Buffalo Sabres. Dealing with a lower-body injury, Nylander has three goals and 14 points in eight games this season.

Woll has not played this season after taking a leave of absence during training camp due to a family matter. He returned to the club last week but since he was placed on the injured reserve list, he will not be eligible to return before Nov. 1.

Treliving says Leafs won't rush Woll as goaltender returns to practice Joseph Woll was on the ice ahead of Leafs practice Monday morning and has not played this season after taking a leave of absence during training camp due to a family matter. General manager Brad Treliving spoke about the timeline for Woll's return to game action and what it's been like having him back in the room.

“Just to get him back for us could be a huge spark, could give us a little energy,” goaltender Anthony Stolarz said about Woll over the weekend.

“I haven’t really spoken too much to him, just kind of giving him his space. But at the end of the day, he’s a huge part of our team.”

Woll, 27, was 27-14-1 with a 2.73 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage in 42 games last season.

Buffalo Sabres

The Sabres could be getting reinforcements as forward Jordan Greenway, and defencemen Michael Kesselring and Jacob Bryson could return to the lineup this week.

Kesselring, 25, was a full participant at practice on Monday for the first time since training camp after sustaining an undisclosed injury. Head coach Lindy Ruff said that he anticipates him playing on Tuesday against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The 6-foot-5 right-shot defenceman was acquired, along with forward Josh Doan, from the Utah Mammoth in exchange for forward J.J. Peterka in June.

He had seven goals and 29 points in 82 games with Utah last season while averaging 17:41 of ice time.

Bryson has missed the team’s last four games while dealing with an upper-body injury and Ruff thinks he could be available on Tuesday.

The 5-foot-9 left-shot defenceman has an assist in five games this season while averaging 9:28 of ice time.

Greenway has been out with a middle-body injury and could make his season debut on Thursday against the Boston Bruins according to Ruff.

The 6-foot-6 winger had three goals and eight points in 34 games last season and signed a two-year extension with the club in March.

Buffalo also assigned defenceman Zach Metsa to the AHL’s Rochester Americans on Monday.

The 5-foot-11 left-shot blueliner has a goal and seven points in five games this season while averaging 16:01 of ice time.

Kochetkov had not appeared this season after sustaining a lower-body injury at practice prior to the season opener.

The 6-foot-1 winger was drafted 15th overall in the 2024 draft and registered five goals and 11 points in 42 games in Sweden last season.

Florida Panthers

Forward Jonah Gadjovich is expected to miss a week of action with an upper-body injury, confirmed head coach Paul Maurice.

He is considered to be day-to-day.

Additionally, the team will be missing forward Maxim Shabanov against the Bruins on Tuesday.

Forwards Robert Thomas and Jake Neighbours will not be in the lineup on Monday when their team takes on the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The 6-foot centre has a goal and six points in eight games this season.

Neighbours will miss his second straight game due to a lower-body injury.

He has six goals and seven points in eight games this season.

Both players are considered to be day-to-day.

Forward Alexey Toropchenko will enter the lineup after missing the team’s last seven games with upper and lower-body injuries.

Strome suffered the injury during Saturday’s game against the Ottawa Senators.
