John Tavares skated in a regular sweater at the Toronto Maple Leafs' practice on Friday, per TSN's Mark Masters.
On Wednesday, the Maple Leafs upgraded Tavares, who has been out since Oct. 15 with an undisclosed lower-body injury, to day-to-day.
“Yeah, really good," Head coach Jim Hiller said of how Tavares looked in that practice session. "I’m sure he was excited to get out there and compete with the guys. He had a really good practice.”
“He looked great like he normally does,” William Nylander said of Tavares with a smile. “I don’t know if he’s going to play next game, but he looked great.”
Tavares, 36, was off to a hot start this season before he was sidelined with the injury. He has two goals and seven points in seven games played.
Jack Roslovic was also in attendance at Friday's practice session after missing Wednesday's session for a maintenance day.
Tavares skated on the second line on the left wing, with Nick Paul at centre and William Nylander on the right side.
