Ice Chips: Lowry a full participant at Jets practice

Winnipeg Jets

Forward Adam Lowry participated in Tuesday’s morning skate prior to their game against the Minnesota Wild in a regular jersey, according to team reporter Mitchell Clinton.

Lowry, 32, hasn’t played this season while recovering from off-season hip surgery.

The Jets captain had been participating in practice recently in a non-contact jersey. He participated as an extra skater along with defenceman Colin Miller.

Lowry recorded 16 goals and 34 points in 73 games last season.

Toronto Maple Leafs

Forward William Nylander is considered to be a game-time decision for Tuesday’s game against the Calgary Flames while forward Calle Jarnkrok is not expect to play.

Nylander, 29, missed Saturday’s 4-3 overtime win over the Buffalo Sabres with a lower-body injury.

He last appeared in the team’s 5-3 loss to the Sabres on Friday, skating 17:39 while registering a goal.

The 6-foot winger has three goals and 14 points in eight games this season.

Jarnkrok, 34, missed Monday’s practice with a lower-body injury, but participated in Tuesday’s option skate.

He skated 10:34 during Saturday win over the Sabres with a minus-1 rating.

The 6-foot winger has three goals in eight games this season.

Calgary Flames

Dustin Wolf was in the starter’s net for Tuesday’s pre-game skate and is expected to be in between the pipes when the Flames take on the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Wolf, 24, helped the team snap an eight-game losing skid on Sunday, allowing a goal on 31 shots in their 5-1 win over the New York Rangers.

The 6-foot netminder has a 2-6-1 record this season with a 3.37 goals-against average and an .886 save percentage.

Calgary is projected to use these lines against the Maple Leafs on Monday:

Defenceman Quinn Hughes will remain out of the lineup on Sunday against the New York Rangers with a lower-body injury, according to TSN’s Farhan Lalji.

Hughes missed Sunday’s 4-3 overtime victory over the Edmonton Oilers with the injury and is considered day-to-day.

The Canucks will re-evaluate Hughes on Wednesday to determine if he can join their upcoming three-game road trip.

Hughes has a goal and seven points in nine games this season while averaging 26:38 of ice time.

The Canucks recalled defenceman Tom Willander from the AHL’s Abbotsford Canucks on Tuesday.

Willander, 20, was drafted 11th overall by the Canucks in 2023 and has a goal and two points in five games in the AHL.

The 6-foot-1 right-shot defenceman played last season with Boston University, recording two goals and 24 points in 39 games.

Additionally, defenceman Victor Mancini was placed on injured reserve after leaving Sunday’s 4-3 overtime win against the Edmonton Oilers with an undisclosed injury.

Mancini, 23, appeared in five games with the Canucks this season, averaging 10:32 of ice time with a minus-2 rating.

Blueliner Derek Forbort was also placed on long-term injured reserve with an undisclosed injury.

The 6-foot-2 left-shot defenceman only appeared in two games this season and hasn’t played since Oct. 11.

Edmonton Oilers

The Oilers used these lines during their morning skate on Tuesday prior to their game against the Utah Mammoth, according to team reporter Tony Brar.

Montreal Canadiens

Jakub Dobes will be in net on Tuesday when the Canadiens take on the Seattle Kraken.

Dobes, 24, has won all five of his starts this season and has a 5-0-0 record with a .940 save percentage and 1.77 goals-against average.

Boston Bruins

Defenceman Hampus Lindholm was activated off injured reserve on Tuesday while defenceman Michael Callahan was assigned to the AHL’s Providence Bruins.

Lindholm, 31, has only appeared in three games this season after sustaining a lower-body injury earlier in the season and then an undisclosed injury on Oct. 18.

The 6-foot-4 left-shot defenceman was limited to 17 games last year due to long-term lower body injury.

Buffalo Sabres

Defenceman Michael Kesselring will make his Sabres debut when they take on the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday.

Kesselring, 25, was acquired, along with forward Josh Doan, from the Utah Mammoth in the off-season in exchange for forward JJ Peterka.

The 6-foot-5 right-shot defenceman hasn’t played this season since sustaining an undisclosed injury during training camp.

He had seven goals and 29 points in 82 games with Utah last season while averaging 17:41 of ice time.

Chicago Blackhawks

Forward Tyler Bertuzzi participated in the Blackhawks’ morning skate prior tot heir game against the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday, according to Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times.

Bertuzzi, 30, missed Sunday’s 3-1 loss to the Los Angeles Kings with an undisclosed injury.

The 6-foot-2 winger has two goals and six points in eight games this season.

Spencer Knight was in the starter’s crease and is expected to be in net against the Senators.

Knight, 24, has a 3-2-1 record this season with a .937 save percentage and 1.97 goals-against average.

Columbus Blue Jackets

Forward Miles Wood will return to the lineup when the Blue Jackets take on the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday, confirmed head coach Dean Evason.

This will be Wood’s first game since Oct. 13 after taking a high-stick to the face against the New Jersey Devils.

Zach Aston-Reese will come out of the lineup to make room for Wood.

Wood, 30, was acquired by the Blue Jackets, along with forward Charlie Coyle, in the off-season from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for prospect Gavin Brindley and two draft picks.

The 6-foot-2 winger has a goal in three games this season.

Additionally, Jet Greaves will get the start in net against the Sabres.

Greaves, 24, last appeared during the team’s 5-1 loss to the Washington Capitals on Friday.

The 6-foot netminder has a 1-3-0 record with a 2.79 goals-against average and .903 save percentage.

Dallas Stars

Jake Oettinger confirmed to reporters on Tuesday that he will be in net against the Washington Capitals.

Oettinger, 26, snapped a three-game personal skid on Saturday during a 3-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes.

The 6-foot-6 netminder has a 4-2-1 record with a 2.98 goals-against average and .899 save percentage.

Florida Panthers

Daniil Tarasov will be in net on Tuesday when the Panthers battle the Anaheim Ducks, head coach Paul Maurice confirmed.

Tarasov, 26, last appeared on Oct. 16 in a 3-1 loss to the New Jersey Devils.

The 6-foot-5 netminder has and 0-2-0 record with an .887 save percentage and 3.08 goals-against average.

Los Angeles Kings

Forward Warren Foegele will “miss some time” with an upper-body injury and won’t be available when the Kings take on the Sharks on Tuesday, head coach Jim Hiller told reporters.

Foegele only skated 1:29 during the King’s 3-1 win over the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday before being removed.

The 6-foot-2 winger has a goal in 10 games this season.

New Jersey Devils

Jacob Markstrom was in the starter’s net during Tuesday’s pre-game skate, indicating he could start against the Colorado Avalanche, according to team reporter Amanda Stein.

Markstrom, 35, missed the last six games while dealing with a lower-body injury.

The 6-foot-6 netminder has a 2-2-1 record this season with a 3.89 goals-against average and an .845 save percentage.

Additionally, defenceman Brett Pesce is expected to miss at least a month with an upper-body injury, head coach Sheldon Keefe confirmed on Tuesday.

Pesce left Sunday’s 4-3 overtime win over the Avalanche after just 6:07 of ice time due to the injury.

The 6-foot-3 right-shot defenceman has three assists in nine games this season while averaging 19:39 of ice time.

Philadelphia Flyers

Sam Ersson will be in net when the Flyers take on the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday.

Ersson, 26, last appeared on Saturday where he allowed three goals and 26 shots in a 4-3 shootout win over the New York Islanders.

The 6-foot-3 netminder has a 1-1-1 record this season with a 3.50 goals-against average and .861 save percentage.

Additionally, forward Nicolas Deslauriers and defenceman Egor Zamula will enter the lineup while Nikita Grebenkin and Adam Ginning coming out as scratches.

Pittsburgh Penguins

The Penguins recalled defenceman Owen Pickering from the AHL’s Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Tuesday.

Pickering, 21, was drafted 21st overall by the Penguins in the 2022 draft and appeared in 25 games last season, recording a goal and three points.

The 6-foot-5 left-shot defenceman has a goal and four points with a plus-four rating in seven games in the AHL this season.

San Jose Sharks

The Sharks placed defenceman Nick Leddy on injured reserve and recalled forward Patrick Giles from the San Jose Barracuda on Tuesday.

Leddy, 34, left Thursday’s 6-5 overtime loss to the New York Rangers in the first period with an upper-body injury.

The 6-foot left-shot defenceman has two assists in seven games this season.

Giles, 25, has a goal and two points in four AHL games this season.

St. Louis Blues

Forward Jake Neighbours sustained a right-leg injury and will be re-evaluated in five weeks, the Blues announced on Tuesday.

Neighbours, 23, already missed Monday’s 6-3 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins with the injury.

The 6-foot winger has six goals and seven points in eight games this season.
