The New York Islanders signed defenceman Ben Hutton to a one-year contract, the team announced on Thursday.
Hutton, 33, previously tried out with the Islanders during training camp.
The 6-foot-3, left-shot blueliner played with the Vegas Golden Knights last season, registering six goals and 15 points in 55 games while averaging 14:35 of ice time.
He added an assist in seven playoff games as the Golden Knights went all the way to the Stanley Cup Final before falling to the Carolina Hurricanes.
Drafted 147th overall in 2012 by the Vancouver Canucks, Hutton has 30 goals and 139 points in 575 career games split between the Canucks, Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Ducks, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Golden Knights.
The Brockville, Ont., native represented Canada at the 2016 World Hockey Championship, taking home a gold medal.
