The New York Islanders have signed unrestricted free agent defenceman Logan Stanley to a one-year contract, the team announced on Sunday.
Stanley, 28, finished last season with the Buffalo Sabres after he was acquired, along with blueliner Luke Schenn, from the Winnipeg Jets for defenceman Jacob Bryson, forward Isak Rosen, and two draft picks at the trade deadline.
He had nine goals and 26 points in 76 games with the Jets and Sabres last season while averaging 16:42 of ice time.
Stanley appeared in eight playoff games while averaging 13:04 of ice time before the Sabres were eliminated in the second round.
The 6-foot-7, left-shot defenceman is coming off a two-year, $2.5 million contract that carried a cap hit of $1.25 million.
Drafted 18th overall by the Jets in 2016, Stanley has 14 goals and 62 points in 278 career games.
