Islanders sign top prospect Eiserman to entry-level contract

Cole Eiserman set a new goals record at the US NTDP, but saw his stock fall over concerns about his overall game. "I think I'm still top of the draft," the winger insists. "I really improved from the first game to the last." Eiserman drew inspiration from watching Auston Matthews score 69 goals while being nominated for the Selke Trophy.

The New York Islanders have signed top prospect Cole Eiserman to a three-year, entry-level contract on Wednesday.

Eiserman, 19, was drafted 20th overall by the Islanders in the 2024 draft and played the last two seasons with Boston University of the NCAA.

The 6-foot winger recorded 18 goals and 28 points in the NCAA this season and finished his college career with 43 goals and 64 points in 71 career games.

Prior to joining Boston University, Eiserman played two seasons with the United States National Development Team Program and overtook Montreal Canadiens forward Cole Caufield as the program’s all-time leading goal scorer in 2024 with 127 goals.

He sits second in USNTDP all-time scoring with 193, only behind New Jersey Devils star Jack Hughes with 228.

The Newburyport, Mass., native represented the United States twice at the World Juniors, taking home a gold medal in 2025 and finishing fifth in 2026.

Eiserman also won gold for the United States at the Under-17 World Hockey Challenge in 2022, and the Under-18 World Hockey Championship in 2023.
