The Winnipeg Jets have claimed goalie Clay Stevenson off waivers from the Washington Capitals.
The 27-year-old from Drayton Valley, Alta., appeared in four games with the Caps last season, recording a 2.00 goals-against average and a .921 save percentage.
Stevenson played 37 games for the American Hockey League’s Hershey Bears where he posted a 18-13-3 record with a 2.62 goals-against average and .912 save percentage.
The Jets are in need of goaltender depth with No. 1 goalie Connor Hellebuyck suspended after not reporting to training camp due to a trade request.
