Jets Yager appears set for second-line role vs. Canucks after recall from AHL

Published:

Forward Brayden Yager has been recalled from the AHL’s Manitoba Moose.

Yager, 21, has appeared in one game with the Jets this season. He also skated in three NHL games in 2025-26, and still seeks his first NHL points.

With the Moose this season, he has seven goals with 12 points in 10 games.

TSN’s Danielle Bain reported that Yager skated on the second line in Thursday’s gameday skate, centreing a line with Cole Perfetti and Dawson Mercer.

A first-round pick (14th overall) by Pittsburgh in 2023, he was dealt to Winnipeg on Aug. 22, 2024 in exchange for Rutger McGroarty.

Forward Brad Lambert was waived by the Jets on Tuesday and cleared on Wednesday.

The Jets broke a nine-game losing streak on Tuesday night against the Montreal Canadiens as they scored four goals in the final three minutes to tie the game before winning 5-4 in overtime.

They are back in action tonight at home against the Vancouver Canucks with Stuart Skinner set to start in net.
