Utah Mammoth forward Logan Cooley is out indefinitely with a lower-body injury, the team announced Monday afternoon.

Cooley was a late scratch for Utah’s game against the Calgary Flames on Saturday. He was not at the team’s morning skate on Monday.

Utah did not say how the 21-year-old sustained the injury, but his left leg did make hard contact with the net during a fall in Friday’s win over the Vancouver Canucks. Cooley remained in the game and finished with two shots on goal in 16:47 of ice time.

The Pittsburgh native is enjoying another strong season in his third NHL campaign with 14 goals and nine assists for 23 points in 29 games while playing 17:49 a night.

He had 25 goals and 65 points in 75 games played last season.

Cooley was selected No. 3 overall by the Arizona Coyotes in the 2022 NHL Draft and has 59 career goals in 186 regular season games.
