Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Joseph Woll exited Thursday’s 5-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes after the second period with a lower-body injury.

Woll did not return to the net ahead for the start of the final frame and was replaced by backup Dennis Hildeby.

The 27-year-old stopped 22 of 23 shots through the first two periods with the Maple Leafs leading 4-1.

Woll missed the first month and a half of the season on a personal leave and made his first start on Nov. 15 against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Coming into this game, he was 3-3-1 in seven appearances with a .924 save percentage and 2.38 GAA.
