The Toronto Maple Leafs have placed defenceman Brandon Carlo on the injured reserve list, it was announced Monday morning.

The move is retroactive to Nov. 13 and means he will miss Tuesday’s game at home against the St. Louis Blues.

The team recalled forward Jacob Quillan from the AHL’s Toronto Marlies.

Carlo did not play in Saturday’s game in Chicago due to a lower-body injury and was considered day-to-day. He played 19:44 of ice time in Thursday’s overtime loss to the Los Angeles Kings.

The veteran blueliner has two assists in 18 games so far this season, his first full campaign with the Maple Leafs after coming over in a trade with the Boston Bruins at this year’s deadline.

Quillan, 23, has two goals and 12 assists for 14 points in 14 games this season with the AHL’s Toronto Marlies.

Including overtime, the Leafs have dropped five games in a row and enter play Monday second-last in the Atlantic Division with 18 points in 19 games.
