The Edmonton Oilers have signed defenceman Shakir Mukhamadullin to a two-year contract extension with an AAV of $1.75 million per season, the team announced Sunday.
The Oilers acquired Mukhamadullin along with prospect Zack Sharp in a trade with the San Jose Sharks for Darnell Nurse on Wednesday.
The 24-year-old had five goals and 12 points in 50 games last season with the Sharks while averaging 17:09 of ice time.
He was drafted 20th overall by the New Jersey Devils in the 2020 draft before he was dealt to the Sharks in February of 2023 in a trade that included Timo Meier.
Mukhamadullin made his NHL debut in January of 2023. He has seven goals with 22 points in 83 NHL career games, all with the Sharks.
The team also signed defenceman Spencer Stastney to a one-year extension worth $1.525 million.
Stastney was acquired from the Nashville Predators on Dec. 12, 2025. He appeared in a career-high 66 games last season split between the Oilers and Predators, tallying two goals and 10 points overall.
Stastney was originally drafted by the Predators in the fifth round (131st overall) of the 2018 NHL Draft, and has four goals and 19 points in 117 career NHL games split between the Predators and Oilers.
