The Edmonton Oilers have signed defenceman Shakir Mukhamadullin to a two-year contract extension with an AAV of $1.75 million per season, according to agent Dan Milstein.
The Oilers acquired Mukhamadullin along with prospect Zack Sharp in a trade with the San Jose Sharks for Darnell Nurse on Wednesday.
The 24-year-old had five goals and 12 points in 50 games last season with the Sharks while averaging 17:09 of ice time.
He was drafted 20th overall by the New Jersey Devils in the 2020 draft before he was dealt to the Sharks in February of 2023 in a trade that included Timo Meier.
Mukhamadullin made his NHL debut in January of 2023. He has seven goals with 22 points in 83 NHL career games, all with the Sharks.
