Jason Dickinson is staying put in Edmonton.
The forward and the Oilers reached a five-year, $20 million extension that carries a cap hit of $4 million and takes a pending unrestricted free agent off the board.
Dickinson, 30, finished last season with the Oilers when he was acquired, along with forward Colton Dach, in exchange for forward Andrew Mangiapane and a conditional first-round draft pick in 2027.
He had seven goals and 17 points in 64 games split between the Blackhawks and Oilers last season.
Dickinson added two goals and three points in four playoff games as the Oilers were eliminated in the first round.
The 6-foot-2 centre is coming off a two-year, $8.5 million contract that carried a cap hit of $4.25 million.
Drafted 29th overall by the Dallas Stars in 2013, Dickinson has 75 goals and 172 points in 566 career games split between the Stars, Vancouver Canucks, Blackhawks, and Oilers.
His best offensive season came during the 2023-24 campaign where he registered 22 goals and 35 points in 82 games with the Blackhawks.
