Pittsburgh Penguins defenceman Kris Letang has been placed on Injured Reserve with a fractured foot and is expected to miss a minimum of four weeks.

The 38-year-old was also sidelined for two games last week with an undisclosed injury, but skated in each of the team’s past two games.

Letang has three goals and 25 points, while also recording 67 hits and 64 blocked shots in 50 NHL games this season. The Montreal native is averaging 22:06 of ice time.

He will be eligible to return after the Olympic break, when the Penguins return to action Feb. 26 against the New Jersey Devils.
