Penguins sign F Lizotte to three-year contract extension

The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed forward Blake Lizotte to a three-year, $6.75 million contract extension, it was announced Monday afternoon.

The deal will carry an average annual value of $2.25 million.

Lizotte has five goals and five assists in 35 games so far this season while averaging 13:57 of ice time per game.

The 28-year-old centre is currently in the final season of a two-year, $3.7 million contract that pays him $1.85 million annually.

A native of Lindstrom, Minn., Lizotte began his NHL career with the Los Angeles Kings in 2018-19 and played six seasons in L.A. before joining the Pens as a free agent two summers ago.

He has 53 goals and 136 points in 414 career NHL regular season games.
