Buffalo Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff said on Monday that forward Jiri Kulich will miss significant time this season due to a blood clot issue that is “pretty serious.”

Ruff adds he expects Kulich to return this season but it depends on how everything goes in the next few weeks.

Kulich, 21, has three goals and two assists in 12 games with the Sabres this season.

In 62 games with Buffalo in 2024-25, he had 15 goals and 24 points.

A first-round pick (28th overall) by Buffalo in 2022, Kulich made his NHL debut on Nov. 25, 2023 against the New Jersey Devils.

In 75 career NHL games, the Kadan, Czechia native has 18 goals and 29 points.
