The Buffalo Sabres have re-signed forward Beck Malenstyn on a six-year, $17.5 million contract carrying a cap hit of $2.92 million.
The deal comes just ahead of July 1, when Malenstyn was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent.
Malenstyn, 28, recorded seven goals and 14 points in 82 games with the Buffalo Sabres last season. He added a goal and three points in 13 playoff games before his team was eliminated in the second round.
The 6-foot-3 winger is coming off a two-year, $2.7 million contract that carried a cap hit of $1.35 million.
Malenstyn was acquired from the Washington Capitals in June of 2024 in exchange for a draft pick.
Drafted 145th overall by the Capitals in 2016, Malenstyn has 19 goals and 48 points in 262 career games split between the Capitals and Sabres.
