The San Jose Sharks announced Tuesday that the club has signed goaltender Ilya Samsonov to a one-year, two-way contract.
Samsonov, 29, appeared in 14 games with HK Sochi of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) last season, with a 3.27 goals against average, .903 save percentage and one shutout.
He had competed in the NHL in the six seasons prior to his return to the KHL, backstopping the Vegas Golden Knights in 2024-25, the Toronto Maple Leafs from 2022-24 and the Washington Capitals from 2019-22.
Over his NHL career, the netminder has amassed a record of 118-48-25 with a 2.77 GAA, .902 SV% and 15 shutouts in 200 league regular season games.
Samsonov has also appeared in 22 career Stanley Cup Playoff contests, owning a 3.05 GAA and .901 SV%.
