The Ottawa Senators have sent goaltender Jonas Johansson down to the American Hockey League’s Belleville Senators, clearing the way for Linus Ullmark to return to the crease, according to PostMedia’s Bruce Garrioch.

Ullmark has the past eight games with a lower-body injury.

The 33-year-old Swedish netminder boasts a 7-1 record with a .945 save percentage and a 1.33 goals against average, which are both first in the NHL.

Across 49 games with Ottawa last season, the 6-foot-4, 223-pound goalie recorded a 28-12-8 record with a .891 save percentage and a 2.73 goals against average.

The 31-year-old Johansson made four starts for the Senators while with up with the big club, recording an .848 save percentage and a 4.60 goals against average.
