The Ottawa Senators placed forward Arthur Kaliyev on waivers on Sunday

Kaliyev, 24, joined the Senators as an unrestricted free agent in July on a one-year, $775,000 contract.

The 6-foot-2 winger finished last season with the New York Rangers after he was claimed off waivers from the Los Angeles Kings in January.

Kaliyev missed the start of last year’s regular season after suffering a fractured clavicle during the Kings’ training camp.

He appeared in 14 games with the Rangers, recording three goals and four points.

Drafted 33rd overall by the Kings in 2019, Kaliyev has 38 goals and 75 points in 202 career games.

Additionally, the Toronto Maple Leafs have placed defencemen Dakota Mermis, Henry Thrun, and forward Michael Pezzetta on waivers.

Pezzetta joined the Maple Leafs as an unrestricted free agent in the off-season after four seasons with the Montreal Canadiens.

He appeared in 25 games with Montreal last season without recording a point.

The Canadiens placed goaltender Kaapo Kahkonen and forward Samuel Blais on the wire as well on Sunday, while the Ottawa Senators and Winnipeg Jets placed goaltender Mads Soogard and defenceman Ville Heinola on waivers, respectively.

Hurricanes claim G Bussi

The Carolina Hurricanes have claimed goaltender Brandon Bussi off waivers from the Florida Panthers on Sunday.

Bussi, 27, joined the Panthers on a one-year, $775,000 deal as an unrestricted free agent in the off-season.

The 6-foot-4 netminder played in the Boston Bruins organization last season, going 15-14-3 with AHL Providence with a .907 save percentage and 2.77 goals-against average.
