The San Jose Sharks acquired the rights to forward Andre Gasseau and a 2026 fourth-round pick from the Boston Bruins on Thursday for fourth- and fifth-round picks in this year’s draft.
The Sharks dropped 16 spots from the 104th overall pick in the fourth round to the 120th overall pick, in addition to giving up the 157th overall pick.
Gasseau was selected by the Bruins in the seventh round of the 2021 draft. The 22-year-old centre posted six goals and 23 points in 23 games as a senior at Boston College this season. He had a career-best 15 goals and 30 points in 36 games last year.
The Sharks have been putting their draft capital to use this week, having acquired defenceman Michael Kesselring from the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday in exchange for dropping seven spots in the first round of this year’s draft from No. 20 to 27th overall.
