Following a career season with the Montreal Canadiens, power forward Juraj Slafkovsky was named the 2026 Slovak Hockey Player of the Year on Friday.
The 22-year-old left winger from Kosice, Slovakia has now won the award four times, including three straight years.
Slafkovsky produced 30 goals and 43 assists, both career highs, over 82 games in 2025-26, his fourth season in the NHL with the Canadiens. He added six goals and six assists across 19 playoff games as Montreal advanced to the Eastern Conference Final where they final to the eventual champion Carolina Hurricanes in five games.
Slafkovsky also represented Slovakia at the Olympics for the second straight time, scoring four goals and four assists over six games, leading his nation in points as they dropped the bronze medal game to Finland by a score of 6-1.
After being selected first overall by the Habs in the 2022 NHL Draft, Slafkovsky has tallied 72 goals and 112 assists over 282 career games.
He is set to enter the second season of an eight-year, $60.8 million contract, featuring an average annual value of $7.6 million.
