Dallas Stars forward Tyler Seguin teamed up with Green Bay Packers star pass rusher Micah Parsons to rehab their torn ACLs together this summer, Seguin told the Dallas Morning News on Thursday.
Seguin was on the ice as the Stars opened training camp on Thursday, while Parsons remains sidelined for at least another three games after being placed on injured reserve to open the season.
While the Stars are undoubtedly happy to have Seguin back, the Packers are beginning to get desperate to see Parsons again, having gone 0-6 including the playoffs since he was injured last winter.
Seguin has been limited to just 47 games over the past two seasons, undergoing hip surgery early in the 2024-25 campaign before knee surgery last season. He managed to return for the playoffs in 2025, posting four goals and eight points in 18 games.
The 34-year-old centre will be looking to stay on the ice this season as he plays out the last of an eight-year contract with an average annual value of $9.85 million.
Seguin had seven goals and 17 points in 27 games prior to being injured last season. He has spent the past 13 seasons of his career with the Stars, topping the 20-goal mark in three straight years before injuries derailed the past two seasons.
Selected second overall by the Boston Bruins in 2010, Seguin has topped the 30-goal mark five times in 16 NHL seasons, posting a career-best 40 goals with the Stars in 2017-18.
Dallas enters this season looking to bounce back from a first-round playoff exit after three straight trips to the Western Conference Final. Seguin is one of nine pending unrestricted free agents on the roster, a list also headlined by Jason Robertson and captain Jamie Benn, who signed one-year deals this summer.
