Stars’ Rantanen to miss at least two weeks, will return before end of season

Dallas Stars forward Mikko Rantanen will miss at least the next two weeks, possibly longer, due to the injury he sustained playing for Finland at Milano Cortina 2026.

Head coach Glen Gulutzan added that Rantanen should return before the end of the season.

He was placed on injured reserve on Monday.

The 29-year-old winger did not play in the bronze medal match against Slovakia due to the injury. He finished the Olympics with two goals and six points in five games.

Rantanen has 20 goals and a team-leading 69 points in 54 games with the Stars this season, his first full year with the club.

In 706 career games with the Stars, Colorado Avalanche and Carolina Hurricanes, the Nousiainen, Finland native has 314 goals and 774 points.

The Stars sits in third place in the Central Division with a 34-14-9 record, one point behind the Minnesota Wild and six points behind the Avalanche.
