Connor McDavid powered the Edmonton Oilers attack with a career-high six assists in an 8-4 victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday night.

This is the second six-point game of McDavid’s career.

McDavid finished one assist shy of the NHL record of seven held by Billy Taylor Sr. and Wayne Gretzky, who accomplished the feat three times in his career.

The 27-year-old recorded helpers on Cody Ceci's first-period goal, Evan Bouchard's marker in the second period and third period goals by Dylan Holloway, Evander Kane and two from Ryan Nugent-Hopkins.

McDavid also recorded six points in a Nov. 14, 2019 victory over the Colorado Rockies.

That night, the Richmond Hill, Ont. native had three goals and three assists, as he hand in every goal during a 6-2 win.
