SailGP announced Wednesday that TSN will return as the Rolex SailGP Championship’s exclusive home of SailGP in Canada for the 2026 and 2027 seasons.
TSN will broadcast all SailGP races live across Canada for the next two seasons on its channels, in addition to a comprehensive offering of highlights and replays made available via Video on Demand and TSN+, the network’s standalone digital streaming service. Additionally, Canada’s French-language sports broadcasting leader RDS will showcase SailGP highlights from events throughout the season.
“TSN has been an outstanding broadcast partner for SailGP in Canada, delivering world-class coverage that continues to elevate our championship and connect fans to the excitement of our racing and entertainment product,” said Sir Russell Coutts, SailGP co-founder and CEO in a statement. “We’re thrilled to extend this partnership through the 2026 and 2027 seasons and to see SailGP showcased across TSN’s industry-leading platforms.
With Canada playing a key role on the global SailGP calendar — highlighted by Halifax hosting one of our events — this renewed partnership is an important step in growing the sport and our fanbase across the entire country.”
“This extended partnership with SailGP reinforces TSN’s dedication to providing Canadian fans with comprehensive access to marquee sporting events from around the world,” said Shawn Redmond, VP, Bell Media Sports. With live coverage across our platforms, including our national television feeds and through streaming on TSN+, we’ll continue to connect Canadians to the speed, strategy and innovation that define SailGP.”
Over the 2025 Season, SailGP’s dedicated global broadcast audience soared to nearly 215 million, averaging 18 million viewers per event, inclusive of Canada’s audience.
The Rolex SailGP Championship, co-founded by Larry Ellison and Sir Russell Coutts in 2018, is an annual global championship in iconic cities around the world, redefining the sport of sailing with its close-to-shore stadium racing.
The 2026 season will kick off with the Oracle Perth Sail Grand Prix broadcast on TSN on January 17 and 18, during which 13 SailGP teams will race in identical 50-foot foiling catamarans faster than wind speeds over 100 kilometers per hour. Led by two-time Olympic champion Giles Scott, Canada’s NorthStar SailGP Team has two event victories to its name and will look to challenge the fleet’s front runners this season to improve upon its sixth-place finish last season.
Later this season, from June 20-21, Halifax will play host to the seventh stop of the championship with the 2026 Canada Sail Grand Prix, which will be SailGP’s showcase event of the season for Canadian broadcasters.
