The Montreal Victoire have the opportunity to capture their first PWHL championship as they lead the Ottawa Charge 1-0 after two periods in Game 4 of the PWHL Walter Cup Finals from Canadian Tire Centre.

Abby Roque opened the scoring at the 3:49 mark of the second period with her third goal of the postseason. Assists came from Marie-Philip Poulin and Laura Stacey.

The goal was a fortunate one for the Victoire as Roque’s shot deflected off the stick of Charge defender Rory Guilday and past goalie Gwyneth Philips.

The Victoire are outshooting the Charge, 12-10 after 40 minutes.

Montreal has killed off both of Ottawa’s power plays in the game.

Montreal, leading the best-of-five series 2-1, can win their first Walter Cup in franchise history with a victory, while Ottawa looks to force a Game 5 and avoid a second straight finals loss.

Montreal took a 2-0 series lead after winning back-to-back games on home ice in overtime. Ottawa forced a Game 4 with a 2-1 victory in Game 3 on Monday.

Ottawa dropped the 2025 PWHL Walter Cup Finals to the Minnesota Frost.

A Canadian team has never won the PWHL title, which is in its third year of existence.

Game 5, if necessary, takes place Saturday afternoon at 12:30pm ET/9:30am PT at Place Bell in Laval.
