The New York Sirens have re-signed forward Casey O’Brien to a two-year standard player agreement on Wednesday.
The deal runs through the 2027-28 season. O’Brien was one of three players protected by the Sirens in the PWHL Expansion Draft.
The third-overall pick in the 2025 PWHL Draft, O’Brien scored seven goals with 22 points in 28 games last season as rookie with the Sirens.
She was one of the three finalists for the PWHL Rookie of the Year award but was edged out by Boston Fleet defender Haley Winn.
“I am so excited to be a Siren for the next two years,” said O’Brien in a statement. “I want to win, and I want to win here in New York. I believe in what we’re building here, and I’m looking forward to the opportunity to help create a championship caliber team and culture. I’m counting down the days until we’re back at The Rock (Prudential Center). Let’s go, Sirens!”
In college, O’Brien captured the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award as the top player on women’s NCAA hockey in 2025 and won three national championships as a member of the Wisconsin Badgers.
