Victoire, Charge scoreless after 20 minutes in Game 4

The Montreal Victoire and Ottawa Charge played to a scoreless opening period in Game 4 of the PWHL Walter Cup Finals from Canadian Tire Centre in the nation’s capital.

Montreal, leading the best-of-five series 2-1, can win their first Walter Cup in franchise history with a victory, while Ottawa looks to force a Game 5 and avoid a second straight finals loss.

Scoring chances were at a premium in the first 20 minutes as the Victoire recorded six shots compared to five by the Charge.

The Victoire killed off the lone power play of the game when Nadia Mattivi was sent to the penalty box for boarding.

Charge forward Taylor House was shaken up late in the period when she tripped over an opposing player and fell hard into the post.

Montreal took a 2-0 series lead after winning back-to-back games on home ice in overtime. Ottawa forced a Game 4 with a 2-1 victory in Game 3 on Monday.

Ottawa dropped the 2025 PWHL Walter Cup Finals to the Minnesota Frost.

A Canadian team has never won the PWHL title, which is in its third year of existence.

Game 5, if necessary, takes place Saturday afternoon at 12:30pm ET/9:30am PT at Place Bell in Laval.
