Victoire sign F Karvinen to one-year contract

The Montreal Victoire signed forward Michelle Karvinen to a one-year standard player agreement on Thursday.

Karvinen spent the 2025-26 campaign with the Vancouver Goldeneyes in their inaugural season after being picked seventh overall by the team in the 2025 PWHL Draft.

In 30 games last season, the 36-year-old scored three goals with nine points.

Karvinen also skated in her fifth Olympics in February, notching one assist in five games as Finland was eliminated in the quarter-finals.

Internationally, she has won three Olympic bronze medals and eight World Championship medals (one silver, seven bronze).

Prior to joining the PWHL, Karvinen had an extensive career in Europe, winning four championship titles in Sweden, including three with Lulea and one with Frolunda HC, and has played in Denmark, Finland, Switzerland and Russia.

She previously played three seasons in the NCAA with the University of North Dakota (2011-14) and was captain in her junior season.
