Canada’s national teams back in action in loaded fall soccer lineup on TSN

Following a historic performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Canadian men’s national team is back in action for three international friendlies as part of TSN’s loaded fall soccer slate that was announced on Thursday.

Canada, now the 30th-ranked team in the world after reaching the Round of 16 for their best-ever finish at the World Cup, are set to return to home soil for matches against Chile in Toronto on Sept. 26 and Peru in Montreal on Oct. 3, before heading south of the border for a highly anticipated matchup against the United States in Minnesota on Oct. 6.

Chile and Peru, the 49th and 50th teams in the FIFA world rankings, did not participate in the 48-team international showcase over the summer after failing to make it out of CONMEBOL qualifiers, while the 16th-ranked U.S. matched Canada with a Round of 16 finish following their loss to Belgium in a game marred by controversy surrounding American striker Folarin Balogun’s suspended red card.

The Canadian women are also headed back to the pitch this fall with a pair of friendlies against Denmark on Friday, Oct. 9 and Monday, Oct. 12 in Montreal an Toronto as they continue their preparations for the CONCACAF W Championship, the qualification pathway for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 in Brazil and the LA28 Olympic Games.

Alongside Canada’s national teams, the nation’s highest domestic knockout competition - the TELUS Canada Championship - also continues later this month with just four teams left standing in the chase for the Voyageurs Cup and qualification to the CONCACAF Champions Cup

Canadian Premier League sides FC Supra du Quebec and Hamilton’s Forge FC go head-to-head in the second leg of their semifinal tie on Wednesday, Sept. 15, while the other side of the bracket is determined with CF Montreal hosting the Vancouver Whitecaps.

Both semis are tied at 1-1 on aggregate heading into the deciding matches, with the winners advancing to the final on Wednesday, Oct. 21 set to be hosted in either Vancouver or Montreal.
