Canadian men’s national team striker Cyle Larin is heading to Southampton in the English Championship, pending a medical, according to TSN’s Matthew Scianitti.

Scianitti reports that teams in Spain, Italy, France, Greece and the MLS wanted Larin but that Southampton wants to give the Canadian international major minutes as this summer’s World Cup looms.

The 30-year-old has been playing with Eredivisie’s Feyenoord since September on loan from RCD Mallorca.

Larin has capped 87 times for Canada, scoring 30 goals. He appeared for Canada at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and at the 2024 Copa America.
