Jonathan Sirois is on the move.
CF Montreal shipped the Canadian goalkeeper to FC Dallas on Monday in exchange for $350,000 in General Allocation Money. The deal also comes with a sell-on clause in which Montreal would receive a portion of any future sale of the player.
A native of Lasalle, Que., the 24-year-old Sirois made 28 appearances across all competitions last season.
“We’d like to thank Jonathan for his contributions to the Club,” CFMTL managing director Luca Saputo said in a statement. “A product of our academy, he fully embodies its mission, which is to develop and showcase local talent. His professionalism and commitment have been exemplary throughout his tenure. This is a good opportunity for him to continue progressing at the highest level. We wish him much success in the next steps of his career.”
Sirois joined the CFMTL academy in 2015 and made his senior debut in 2020. He would go on to make 102 appearances for the team across all competitions. He also had loan spells with Vancouver Whitecaps and Canadian Premier League side Valour FC.
Internationally, Sirois has been called into Canada camp on a number of occasions, but has yet to appear competitively.
