Real Madrid’s busy summer continued on Thursday with the official arrival of Yan Diomande.
The 19-year-old Cote d’Ivoire winger joins the club from RB Leipzig in a deal worth a reported £115.8 million.
The transfer is the largest in club history and the 14th-largest of all-time.
A native of Abidjan, Diomande previously played in Spain with Leganes, making 10 La Liga appearances in 2024-2025. He moved to Leipzig last summer when his €20 million release clause was met. In 33 Bundesliga appearances, Diomande scored 12 goals.
Internationally, Diomande made his senior debut for the Elephants in 2025 and was a member of the squad at this summer’s World Cup. He made four appearances at the tournament and registered an assist in a 2-0 group-stage win over Curacao. Diomande has 14 senior caps.
Wanted by both Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain, Diomande becomes the fifth major addition at the Bernabeu in the offseason. Portugal midfielder Bernardo Silva, Netherlands left-back Denzel Dumfries and France centre-back Ibrahima Konate all joined on free transfers. World Cup-winning Spain defender Marc Cucurella arrived from Chelsea in a transfer believed to be worth £52 million.
