Haiti and Lyon midfielder Melchie Dumornay claimed the women’s prize.
“On behalf of the entire Concacaf football family, I would like to congratulate Jonathan and Melchie on being named the Concacaf Players of the Year,” Concacaf president Victor Montagliani said in a statement. “Their accomplishments this past season, both at the international and club levels, representing their nations and our region across several important competitions, were truly inspiring. We look forward to seeing them continue to make an impact as we enter an important year with a World Cup hosted in our region, and Concacaf W Qualifiers matches ahead of the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.”
David became Canada’s all-time leading scorer in 2025, taking his tally to 36 goals in 67 appearances. He had four goals and three assists in eight international appearances in 2025.
In club play, David scored seven Champions League goals for Lille, the most-ever in a single season by a Concacaf player in the 21st century. He also scored 16 goals in Ligue 1 play.
Born in Brooklyn and raised in Ottawa, David joined the Bianconeri this past summer on a free transfer after five seasons with Les Dogues.
