The back-to-back European champions are well represented in the nominees for this year’s Ballon d’Or.
Of the 30 players named finalists for the award handed out by France Football, 10 come from Paris Saint-Germain. Among those nominated include last year’s winner, Ousmane Dembele. He’s joined by Achraf Hakimi, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Marquinhos, Nuno Mendes, Joao Neves, Willian Pacho, Fabian Ruiz, Ferran Torres and Vitinha.
Spain’s World Cup-winning side also sees a number of nominees with Ruiz, Torres, Pau Cubarsi, Marc Cucurella, Lamine Yamal and Rodri on the list. Record eight-time winner Lionel Messi is also up for another award with the Inter Miami star and Lautaro Martinez representing runners-up Argentina. Rodri and Messi are the only other previous winners to be nominated.
The 70th Ballon d’Or will be handed out on Oct. 26 in London.
