Canadian Jayden Nelson is finalizing a deal to move from Austin FC in MLS to Bolton Wanderers F.C. in the English Championship, according to The Athletic’s Tom Bogert.
The deal will be for $1.1 million, plus add-ons, reports Bogert. Nelson reportedly told Austin he wanted to join a European club and Bolton met the club’s asking price.
Nelson was on Team Canada for the 2026 FIFA World Cup earlier this summer, where he appeared in one game.
The 23-year-old from Brampton, Ont. has two goals and one assist in 13 matches so far this MLS season, seven of them starts. He spent last season with the Vancouver Whitecaps and was with Toronto FC prior to that.
Nelson has three goals in 15 caps for Canada internationally.
