Report: Ex-Barca midfielder Roberto set to join Galaxy

Sergi Roberto is headed to Major League Soccer.

Marca’s Matteo Moretto reports the former Spain and Barcelona midfielder is set to join LA Galaxy.

Roberto, 34, spent the past two seasons at Como. He made 33 Serie A appearances across both campaigns and 37 across all competitions. Roberto scored once.

A native of Reus, Roberto is a product of La Masia and made his senior debut for the Blaugrana in 2010. He would go on to make 245 La Liga appearances over 14 seasons at Camp Nou. During his time at Barca, Roberto won seven league titles, six Copas del Rey and two Champions League crowns.

Internationally, Roberto was capped 11 times by La Roja, scoring once in 2016 against Liechtenstein in a 2018 World Cup qualifier.

Roberto will be the second addition to the club in recent days with word breaking on Thursday that Mexico winger Chucky Lozano is set to join the Galaxy on loan from San Diego FC.
