Ederson’s move to Manchester United is off.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Atalanta is confident in the Brazil midfielder’s health, but the Red Devils have declined to move forward.
The Daily Mail’s Chris Wheeler reported earlier on Friday that a edical taken by the 27-year-old Ederson while on international duty at the World Cup raised concerns at Old Trafford. The player is believed to be dealing a meniscus injury. Ederson appeared in two games for the Selecao at the World Cup.
A native of Campo Grande, Ederson spent the last four seasons with La Dea after a move from Salernitana. He made 30 Serie A appearances last season.
With Casemiro leaving United after a stellar campaign, the Red Devils are looking to rebuild their midfield with a return to the Champions League on the horizon. The team is set to complete the signing of another Brazil midfielder, 22-year-old Andrey Santos from Chelsea, imminently, while France’s Manu Koné of Roma is also of interest.
