John Stones is ready for his next challenge.
The 32-year-old England defender is in Milan where he is expected to complete his move to Inter on a two-year deal, according to multiple reports.
A product of the Barnsley academy, Stones spent the past 10 seasons at Manchester City where he won six Premier League titles, three FA Cups, three League Cups and a Champions League title. Stones’s recent seasons have seen sparse usage and injury. He made just nine league appearances in 2025-2026.
Prior to joining City in a £47.5 million move in the summer of 2016, Stones spent four seasons at Everton. All told, Stones appeared in 257 league matches across 14 seasons. He scored 11 goals.
Internationally, Stones is coming off of a World Cup in which he actually played more minutes than he did in the Premier League last season, tallying 550 over seven matches. He did not feature in the Three Lions’ 6-4 win over France in the third-place game. Stones has been capped 94 times since his senior debut in 2014.
Stones is set to become just the fourth English player to suit up for Inter, joining Ashley Young, Paul Ince and Gerry Hitchens.
