Toronto FC defender Richie Laryea is out for Saturday’s matchup against Atlanta United after feeling tightness in his thigh following the team’s mid-week game against Philadelphia Union, according to TSN’s Matthew Scianitti.

According to Scianitti, Laryea met with doctors, had imaging done on his injury and his participation in the FIFA World Cup is not in doubt.
Toronto FC is expected to provide an update on the 31-year-old’s condition on Saturday.
Laryea started and played all 90 minutes in Wednesday’s 3-3 draw with the Union at BMO Field.
The Toronto native has played in nine games this season for Toronto FC and has two goals and two assists over 810 minutes.
Laryea has made 73 appearances for the Canadian national men’s soccer team, including starts in both March window international friendlies against Iceland and Tunisia.
